After Registration in March, The Annual General Meeting of the Old Students’ Association was held on August, 1968 in the School Music Room. Only about 60 old students attended the Meeting. In spite of the few number of attendance, the Meeting was carried out smoothly and the Office bearers were elected as above shown.

Shea Chi Yan was originally elected as the chairman and Ho Yue Shun was the vice chairman. Shea Chi Yan resigned from the post because she has to further her studies in U.S.A. and we wish her every success in the coming future. Ho Yue Shun became the chairman after a Committee Meeting was held and Chan Kam Chuen was nominated to fill the post of vice chairman.

As the Association is still very young, and most of the graduates of the mother school are not interested in joining the Association, membership for this year is limited and as a result the activities of the Association were nearly at a standstill. Throughout the year, we only held an Annual Ball on the 26th December, 1968 in the School Hall. Nearly 200 old students attended the party. The Principal, Mr. G. W. Parry and members of his staff, and Mr. C. L. Siu, the ex-senior master were also present. They enjoyed the evening wholeheartedly.

Monthly Committee Meetings are held on the Third Saturday afternoon of each month inside the school premises.

The success of the Association depends on the part played by its members --- whether they support the association; whether they participate in its activities; whether they render financial support or other assistance to the association and make suggestions on improving the work of the association. And of course, the part played by the office-bearers who planned and executed the work of the association is also important.

The main purpose of the Association is to maintain and promote good relationship with the mother school and among the members. And we hope that every graduates of Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School would join the Old Students’ Association. We also hope that the principal and teachers would guide us in all aspects continuously.

SHAU KEI WAN GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL OLD STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
1968-69 (From Year Book 1968-69)

The Association was first established in 1967 by a group of enthusiastic students. Eversince that time it has organized activities such as picnics, barbecues, social gatherings and an Annual Ball every Christmas. Its chief purpose is to link up all old students in a close union. In addition, the Association has made the first attempt of the publication of a bulletin in February 1970. Further improvement is always possible depending on the support of the former fellow students.

SHAU KEI WAN GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL OLD STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
(From Year Book 1970-71)

It was the fifth-form graduates of 1966 who first conceived the idea of an Old Students’ Association for our school. But it was not until some two years, after much frustration and strained negotiation, that the Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School Old Students’ Association was finally properly registered with the Registrar of Societies. Since then it has been barely kept alive by the devoted work of our predecessors and the meagre monetary subscriptions of the few old students who cared enough to become members.

The office-bearers for the Session 1970-1971, based on the Cabinet System proposed by Mr. Edward K.S. Chan, were elected on September 12, 1970, the second time the Annual General Meeting was convened. They were:

During this session, the Association had organised an outing to St. Christopher’s Home, a career talk to fifth form graduates, an Annual Ball, and a Summer Swing, An Old Students’ Association Basketball Team was also formed under the director and coach of Mr. Chan Wing Kwai, one of our Hon. Advisers. Two issues of Vicent Veritas, the OSA bulletin, were published. But the greater part of the work done by the Committee is not so readily appreciable. This includes the introduction and bank payment of subscriptions, which we has hoped would make it more convenient for our members and fellow old students but which proved equally unpopular; an extensive search of all old students including advertising in major local newspapers: a new systems of filing these addresses; and a thousand and one their trivial things which are nevertheless indispensable.

In the past year, the Old Students’ Association had only some 60 members which amounted to only one-tenth of all old students. The response to and attendance of functions organised by the Association were by no means encouraging. What is directly needed now is a sense of belonging and loyalty to the school in each and every student. I imagine all old students of Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School must somehow show cherish the one thing they have in common --- that on having been a student of SKWGSS. And that alone is enough excuse, even for the rationalist, for becoming a member of the Old Students’ Association.

筲官創校於1961年，第一屆畢業學生1966年畢業。當年舊生為聯系校友各項活動，而組織舊生會。

舊生會成立期及經過

(一) 第一屆舊生畢業同學錄所編印

同窗五載，臨別依依，為了把過去五載同窗之誼，生活點滴永誌於記令冊，制訂一本詳細而精彩的同學錄是離校同學的期望。於是每班推舉代表，編寫每位同學的特徵、品德及性格，附上畢業時的近照，版面背景是班房與走廊間的玻璃百窗的電版圖案，看上去就好像永遠留在班房內的光景，令人不會忘記五載同窗生活。

同學錄是經過月的時間及編委的長期合作的結晶品，由於共同合作了一段時間，又因離愁別緒的影響，駕輕就熟及時勢使然的情況下，編委們提議組成舊生會，因為他們很完整地掌握了全部校友的寶貴資料。

(二) 筲官舊生會籌組過程

基於上述原因，一群1966年畢業生同學錄編輯小組成員倡議並發起組織筲官舊生會的意向，在當時畢業同學的熱烈呼應下一致贊成及認為有必要成立。數次代表會議後一致議決首先成立舊生會臨時籌備委員會，推行初步組會事宜與會代表?成為臨時籌備委員會成員，同時議決了一系列首要工作。

(三) 臨時籌備委員會的成立及工作

首要工作大鋼如下

向母校尋求指尊及協助去推行組織舊生會的手續及程序、章程、架構等詳情
邀請學校老師當舊生會顧問，並請校長為舊生會贊助人或監督
臨時籌委會推選了下列校友為執行委員(陳錦金、謝之恩、謝鍚金、陳秀卿、韋衛英、何金泉、徐景光、黃詠玲、朱世榮) (憑記憶所及，可能有所漏記之名單)
授權執委專責處理成立筲官舊生會一事宜，並與母校保持有關成立舊生會的指導及意見。

舊生會的組織架構，社團登記手續及草擬舊生會章程等程序，都在母校老師指導下，經歷數載的努力下終告完成。詳情及經過另記於後。

筲箕灣官立中學舊生會組織架構及會章的制訂

臨時籌委會及執行委員會幾經輪選，再加入第二、三屆畢業同學生力軍的接力補充，反覆探討相對比較等過程後。最終由陳景生為首，以及鄔石尉，張鍚華，韋佑銓，馬國恆，蘇若懿，丁XX，十作何全泉等校友議決以英式傳統的內閣制為舊生會組織架構，由會章詳細說明(表述)舊生會組織依據，並註冊成立為法定團體。

內閣制是由校友自由組閣方式，參與選舉角逐方式選出舊生會執行委員會，推動會務。是任由各屆舊生會自由組閣競選，訂出政綱給全體舊生投票選舉，即落選內閣則可組成監察委員會監察會務。

內閣制並非當時提出的唯一方案，是幾經各方面篩選比較後的成果，其他提出的方案都未俾大多數接納而成功勝出，其原因如下：

由陳景生校友提出的內閣制，其實是當時一群剛從港大法律系的舊生，憑他們的專業學識及能力，提出很多資料作支持，詳盡而具體的方案，亦為舊生會組織的會章及內容，作出詳細探討及建議。頗具權威性及說服力而力壓其他提案。終於獲採納為舊生會組織的模式，而第一屆內閣成員亦是由陳景生校友組成的內閣成功勝出而成為首屆會長而內閣制亦一直為舊生會沿用至1982年。

內閣制的特色是分執行委員會及監察委員會兩部份，通過互相制衡進行管理舊生會會務，行之有效。歷屆內閣沿革如下：
